Cheryl Gilbert manages all aspects of RAP’s financial operations, including grants compliance and contracts. In addition to managing the organization’s day-to-day financial responsibilities, she focuses on establishing streamlined, efficient processes for overseeing RAP’s grants and project obligations.
Cheryl Gilbert has directed financial operations and human resources in the private sector for most of her career. Her financial acumen, coupled with international and multi-state experience, has established her as a seasoned professional with strong experience in developing and managing financial structures, contract negotiations, and project management. Most recently, she served as chief financial officer at a multi-entity New England building materials manufacturer and wholesale distributor, where she coordinated the legal and regulatory requirements to expand operations. Prior to returning to Vermont, Gilbert also served as chief financial officer for Seattle based international industrial contracting companies, and assisted minority owned startup businesses with developing their financial structures.
Driven by her passion for the environment, Cheryl Gilbert sought opportunities to improve the sustainability of the organizations with which she has worked.
She studied accounting at Champlain College and environmental studies at the University of Vermont.
