An Overview of Smart Grid Issues
This document is a presentation by Roger Levy, lead consultant of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Smart Grid Technical Advisory Project, for the Oregon Public Utility Commission on Sept. 9, 2009. He explains smart grid components, potential benefits, and issues related to metering, rate design, demand response, planning for the transition to smart grid technologies, and standards to address interoperability and obsolescence.
