Changes in Ohio's Electricity Market
Janine Migden-Ostrander joined Ohio University’s Consortium for Energy, Economics & the Environment for a webinar titled, “Changes in Ohio’s Electricity Market – Prospects for 2014.” She reviewed the history of retail competition in Ohio and detailed the major legislative and regulatory actions since 1999. Ms. Migden-Ostrander also discussed the status of each utility’s competitive bidding process. Recent efforts to roll back Ohio’s commitment to energy efficiency and renewable energy would cost customers more in electricity bills, with annual increases of $302.8 million, according to an analysis by the Ohio State University.
