Characterizing Energy Efficiency and Its Benefits (Module 2)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes the economic and environmental benefits that energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) provide. It also recognizes that more must be done to encourage and facilitate inclusion of EE/RE in federal and state air quality (AQ) planning efforts (e.g., State Implementation Plans or SIPs). Accordingly, EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS) asked RAP to develop and present a comprehensive training workshop for its staff. Chris James, Ken Colburn, and John Shenot prepared and conducted this training on August 15-16, 2011 as a series of modules. This module focused on energy efficiency.
