The European Commission has prioritized demand response within its internal market reform framework. A number of EU Member States have undertaken steps to enable demand response as a power system resource. In a discussion hosted by the Forum for Energy Analysis on the opportunities and challenges of demand response in Poland, Edith Bayer provided an overview of experiences with demand response in France, the UK, Finland, and Germany, as well as a summary of the key lessons learned in those regions.
