RAP CEO Rich Sedano was the only international expert invited to address the Electricity Market Special Committee Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and National Electricity Exchange Institutions Forum. He introduced recent developments in U.S. power markets that shed light on the market design policy discussions happening in China. Mr. Sedano discussed issues around contracts, generator compensation, and valuation of distributed energy resources in wholesale markets.

The conference attracted more than 500 participants from research institutions, market operators, universities, government agencies and research institutions, power plants, grid companies, and retailers, and well-known experts, scholars, and academicians. Technical support systems for power market operations, technical standards systems, and experimental verification methods were also discussed during the two-day meeting.

The conference was hosted by the Electricity Market Special Committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, the National Electricity Exchange Alliance, and the Beijing Power Exchange Center.
