Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Clean Power Plan Compliance
At a discussion focused on state compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s final Clean Power Plan (CPP) rule, Ken Colburn addressed the value and role of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Drawing on best practices and the National Association of Clean Air Agencies’ extensive “Menu of Options” for CPP compliance, he recommended state regulators consider a multi-pollutant, regional approach, project future conditions, assess and model compliance scenarios, and establish a clear compliance planning process.
