Putting the Pieces Together: Electric Energy Training for Air Regulatory & Planning Staff
Integration of energy policies into environmental planning has been stymied by incremental thinking and lack of knowledge about how energy savings are evaluated, measured, and verified. Getting tons out of the air, reducing the quantity of water consumed require consideration of the entire portfolio of energy efficiency programs. Discrete EE measures are insufficient alone to produce the GWh of savings needed to significantly improve air and water quality. This module lays out the case for thinking big, why it is important to do so, and the steps that environmental regulators can take to include these big savings into their plans.
