Smart Grid 101
On October 4, Rich Sedano addressed the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators from the Midwest Region on issues and policy considerations surrounding smart grid deployment. In light of ever-changing technology, the opportunities for improving operations and service, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions related to the smart grid are also rapidly evolving. Along with these positive developments come new regulatory challenges to protect privacy and health, assure reliability, and enable fair competition and innovation. All the while, regulatory agencies must ensure that the value of smart grid investments is realized.
