
Colin Owyang is senior vice president and chief operating officer at Vermont Electric Power Co. (VELCO), which operates and maintains the transmission system in Vermont. In an earlier stint with the company, he served as senior vice president and general counsel.
Before returning to VELCO in early 2022, Mr. Owyang was general counsel and head of strategy at Franklin Energy. He has also been the deputy attorney general in Massachusetts; senior vice president and general counsel at National Grid USA; assistant U.S. attorney in Boston; special assistant U.S. attorney and a trial attorney in Washington, D.C.; and a law clerk to three federal judges.
Mr. Owyang is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Yale College and Yale University. He also serves on the board of trustees at Champlain College in Vermont and the Restorative Justice Panel in Shelburne, Vermont.
