Jake Brown comes to RAP with a background of environmental and clean energy advocacy paired with journalism. Before joining RAP, he was the director of communications and public affairs at the Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC), a statewide non-profit organization. At VNRC, Mr. Brown managed external communications with members, partners, citizen groups, and other stakeholders, and coordinated media relations. Earlier in his career, he was a law and policy reporter with Bloomberg/BNA, covering the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other federal agencies, as well as Vermont state government.
Mr. Brown earned an undergraduate degree in history and Spanish from Middlebury College and a masters of environmental law from Vermont Law School. He serves on the Environmental Policy Program Advisory Board at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, and is involved several other local civic activities. He is fluent in Spanish.
