As the China program director, Yue Lijun leads RAP’s initiatives in China, advising central governmental and provincial decision-makers on power sector policies. She is responsible for all aspects of leadership, management, and financial viability of RAP’s work in China.
Prior to joining RAP, Ms. Yue served as a senior commercial officer at the Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing, working closely with the Chinese government and companies in the renewable energy sector to promote Sino-Danish cooperation.
Ms. Yue has a strong track record in energy research. As part of the China energy team at Cambridge Energy Research Associates, she was responsible for research on the electric power market. She also led an in-house research team with Accenture China, providing research to support strategic consulting in the energy and utility sectors.
A trained electrical engineer, Ms. Yue worked in a thermal power plant in China for six years and a state power media outlet as a journalist.
Ms. Yue earned her master’s degree in renewable energy engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and her bachelor’s degree in electric power engineering from Taiyuan University of Technology in China. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from on-the-job training at China Renming University.
