The transition to renewable energy is key to address the challenges posed by climate change, such as air pollution, global warming and energy security. Is a transition to 100% clean, renewable energy actually possible? In his book 100% Clean, Renewable Energy and Storage for Everything, Professor Mark Jacobson from Stanford University examines the scientific, engineering, economic, social and political aspects of transitioning regions around the world to 100% clean energy. It concludes that, with the main technologies currently available such as wind, water, solar and storage, a worldwide transition is indeed technically and economically possible. The main obstacles appear to stem from the social and political sphere.
In the third webinar of our Electrification Academy series, Leonardo Energy and RAP invited Mark Jacobson to speak on this fascinating topic.
