RAP Europe on the “WirtschaftsEffizienzWunder” potential for Germany’s EnergieWende RAP Europe’s recent article published in the German Financial Times was highlighted by European parliamentarian Claude Turmes in his keynote speech in Berlin on February 29, at the annual conference of the Deutsche Unternehmensinitiative EnergieEffizienz. The conference brought together key members of government, industry and NGOs to discuss the imperative of increasing energy efficiency investments during Germany’s transition to a low-carbon economy and nuclear phase-out. RAP Principal Meg Gottstein repeated the themes of this article while highlighting global experience with energy savings obligations at a parliamentary breakfast meeting in Berlin the next day. The meeting, organized by the BUND für Umwelt und Naturschutz, was similarly focused on how to tap the full economic potential of efficiency in Germany.
