As a senior advisor Zsuzsanna Pató advances RAP’s thinking on power market design, network development, demand-side flexibility, renewable integration and tariff design. She steered RAP’s flagship project developing a regulatory blueprint for the future European power sector. She has extensive experience in regulatory issues at both the EU level and the regional level in Central and Eastern Europe and Southeast Europe.
Before joining RAP in 2018, Pató worked for the Regional Center for Energy Policy Research (REKK), a Budapest-based think tank. Her work focused on energy efficiency policy, renewable energy regulation, smart networks, power market modelling and market design.
Pató holds a master’s degree in economics from the Budapest University of Economics, a master’s in environmental science and policy from Central European University, and a doctorate in international relations from Central European University.
