Donna Brutkoski coordinates the RAP U.S. team's multi-faceted communications program to deliver power sector policy and best practices guidance to policymakers and regulators. Previously, she served as publications coordinator, managing the development, editing, and production of RAP publications. Prior to joining RAP, she was a multiplatform editor at the Washington Post and also worked as a publications editor at Eurasia Group, a political risk consultancy. She provided freelance editorial and communications consulting for clients including the African Development Bank’s Energy, Environment, and Climate Change Department and the International Council on Clean Transportation, and earlier in her career worked as a copy editor at the Boston Globe and Newsday.
Donna Brutkoski received a master’s degree in international development and economics from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor’s in journalism from George Washington University.

How have RAP’s values shown up in your work?
Over my years working at RAP, I’ve experienced the meaning of “pursue progress, not perfection” in the way we communicate about policy options. We find ways to meet our audiences where they are, and show them the possible paths to an affordable, reliable clean energy transition.
What’s your passion outside of RAP/clean energy?
I'll list several things that I look forward to most each week beyond work: My volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, my tap dance classes, and time spent soaking in the four (or maybe five or six, depending on who's counting!) seasons of beauty that my home state of Vermont has to offer.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a teacher when I grew up (following in the footsteps of both my parents). Later-childhood career aspirations included Radio City Rockette and film director.
